Frances W. Owen, 79, of 220 19th St. NE, Cedar Rapids, died April 3, at St. Luke's Hospital following a sudden illness. The daughter of George and Ruth Evans Yeaman, she was born April 13, 1902 at Sioux City. On Sept. 6, 1922 she was married to Carlton Owen at Sioux City. A resident of Cedar Rapids for the past 60 years, she was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist church, Chapter L.I., P.E.O. and CH. #183, O.E.S.
Surviving are a son, George Owen of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Barbara Norris of Loveland, Colo.; a sister Gladys Sawyer of Sun City, Calif. Also nine grandchildren and six great granddaughters.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6 at the Beatty-Beurle-Murdoch Chapel in Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Lloyd E. Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
