Obituary of Mrs. C. Kalen.
Annetta Ralph was born in New York state on the 27th of September in 1862. When she was three years old her parents removed to Wisconsin, and lived there until her marriage at the age of seventeen, when she came to Havelock, Iowa, she lived in this place for ten years when she came to Marion and has resided for the last twenty five years.
She was united in marriage twice. To her first union eight children were born and to the last one, four. Of these children, five have preceded her to the other shore, as also Mr. Kalen who died eight years ago.
After some days of illness she fell asleep during the afternoon of the eighteenth of July, 1914, after a life of 51 years, 7 months and 21 days. She was a faithful wife and mother.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Perry Williams, Misses Elsie, Edith and Edna Kalen all of Marion, Iowa. Also her three sons, Messrs. Rolla Little of Tipton, Iowa, Floyd Little of Cedar Rapids and Archie Little of West Bend, Iowa. Besides other relatives and friends.
