--The funeral services of the late Lucius L. Cone were held last Saturday afternoon in the M.E. church conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.G. Van Ness. The deceased was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. O.B. Cone, and a brother of H.D. Cone and Mrs. Dr. Milton Rice of Cedar Rapids. He was born in Belle Plaine in November, 1873, but his parents removed to Marion while he was yet a child. The music at the services were furnished by Mesdames V.G. Shumack and S.N. Parsons and Messrs. E.J. Esgate and N.H. Richards. Mrs. J.G. Van Ness also sang a beautiful solo. The floral offerings were very beautiful, among them being one from the county officials, their deputies and clerks. The county auditor's office was closed during the time of the funeral services as a mark of respect to the deceased, who was, previous to his illness, an employe.
