DEATH OF PORTER W. EARL.
One of the Oldest Citizens of Cedar Rapids Passes Quietly Away.
Porter W. Earl, aged eighty-two, who has lived in Cedar Rapids upwards of thirty-nine years, passed quietly away at his residence on Eighth avenue Sunday morning at two o'clock. His death, while not wholly unexpected, was a surprise to his many friends, who esteemed him as a man who has done much for Cedar Rapids in former days, and who was universally respected and liked.
A brief account of his life, together with the announcement of his funeral, will appear in a future issue of THE GAZETTE.
