MRS. BARBARA COENEN, PIONEER HERE, IS DEAD
Mrs. Barbara Coenen, one of the older and best known Bohemian pioneers of the city, died at her residence, 624 E avenue west, at 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Coenen was 64 years old and had spent the greater part of her life in Cedar Rapids, coming to this city from Bohemia, when she was a girl. Mrs. Coenen's husband preceded her in death thirty-one years. Surviving are two sons, Ben and Joe, and her three daughters, Mrs. W.W. Weingartl and Mrs. S.L. Menary of Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. J.J. Cash of Des Moines, and one step-daughter, Mrs. John Mathes of Marion.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
