FUNERAL OF MRS. MARTINEK
Large Concourse of Friends Pay Tribute to Her Memory.
The funeral of the late Mrs. Anna Martinek, whose death occurred Thursday morning last, was held from the family residence, 1117 South Seventh street, at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, Rev. Hlavaty officiating. A large concourse of friends attended the obsequies and followed the remains to their last resting place in Oak Hill. Evidences of the love and affection in which Mrs. Martinek was held by a large circle of friends were sent in the form of numerous and beautiful floral pieces.
Mr. and Mrs. Wencil Martinek located in Cedar Rapids thirty-six years ago, being among the earliest of the Bohemian pioneers. Mrs. Martinek was a woman of strong personality and beautiful character. Her daughter, Mrs. C.H. Swab, and husband returned from a winter's vacation in Florida to attend the funeral.
