Mrs. Josephine Swatosh, widow of Frank Swatosh, 321 Thirty-six Street NE, a Cedar Rapids resident for 39 years, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the home of her daughter, Blanche Swatosh, following a long illness. She was born December 15, 1852, in Czechoslovakia and came to this country at the age of five.
Surviving in addition to Blanche Swatosh are three other daughters: Mrs. Agnes Horak, Mrs. Albia Ferree, Mrs. Lillian Wheeler, all of Seattle; four sons, J.L. Swatosh of Ruthven, E.A. Swatosh of Belle Plaine, F.A. Swatosh of Brooklyn, Iowa, and J.A. Swatosh of Cedar Rapids. One daughter, Emily R. Love, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Swatosh was a member of the Peoples church and was active in the Social circle of the church and the Belle Plaine club.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Turner chapel at 3:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Waldemar Argow. Burial will be made in Cedar Memorial Park cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after noon Sunday.
