The Marion Register Tuesday April 23, 1918
Friday was a cloudy, chilly day, but the weather did not prevent many friends from attending the funeral services of Canfield Durham. The sermon was a beautiful discourse by Rev. Finney, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Appropriate music by a quartet--Mesdames Bert Sebern and J.W. Bowman and Messrs. Bert Sebern and Clyde Kerns. The pall-bearers, with one exception, were from the Milwaukee bridge carpenters, a department in which Mr. Durham had served the company long and faithfully. Mr. D., like his honored father, belonged to the gentlemanly class, a man of high ideals. Marion lost one of its best citizens when Canfield Durham "crossed the great divide."
