The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Wednesday May 16, 1883 Marion Notes:
John Groll, son of Geo. F. Groll, of Martin's Creek, died Sunday last and was buried here yesterday. He was in his 24th year, and was a most noble and worthy young man. His funeral sermon was delivered at Martin's Creek church, to a very large audience, and the body was interred in the city cemetery. Rev. W.F. Barclay conducting the services.
