Mrs. Anna Chalfant died at a local hospital Friday morning after a prolonged illness. Mrs. Chalfant was born Feb. 2, 1860, at Independence, Iowa. She was married to H.G. Chalfant in 1886. He preceded her in death in 1907. Mrs. Chalfant had been a resident of Cedar Rapids for the last 44 years and had been a member of St. Paul's Methodist church for the last 48 years. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Champion and Miss Augusta E. Longnecker, both of Lake City, Ill.
Funeral services will be held in the Turner chapel at 3 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. A.A. Brooks will officiate and burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery.
