Harold W. Davis, 92, a long time resident of the Marion and Cedar Rapids areas, died Jan. 10 in the Iowa Veterans Home at Marshalltown, following a long illness.
He was born the son of D.C. and Mae Scott Davis on Dec. 8, 1895, at Stauston, Ill.
On Dec. 24, 1919, at LaPorte City, he was married to Zella Franklin, who died July 30, 1974.
Mr. Davis served with the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War I and had been employed by Fruehauf Trailer Company in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1961.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd F. of Ashton, Ill., Stanley W. of Sacramento, Calif., and Donald E. of Broken Arrow, Okla.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Paul of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert; and a brother, Glen.
Services were held Jan. 14 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion with the Rev. James Warren, pastor of Marion Christian Church.
Interment was at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
