Services Monday for Perry L. Hicks, 76
Perry L. Hicks, 76, of 2900 Seventh avenue, a Marion resident for 27 years, died Friday in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
Born Feb. 22, 1890, at Eldon, Mo., he was married to Dora Wood on April 16, 1912, at Eldon. Mr. Hicks lived in Cedar Rapids and Blue Island, Ill., before moving to Marion in 1949, when he retired as a machinist with the Rock Island railroad. Mr. Hicks was a deacon of the Fairview Baptist church and a member of the Railroad Machinist union.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Gailord Hicks of Baltimore; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley Hotle and Mrs. Arnold Kimm, both of Marion; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Jack Dorl of Eldon, Mo.
Services: Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Truman Smith. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Saturday after 6 p.m.
