Walter A. Wright, 80, rural Springville, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Walter and Mary Walker Wright Nov. 3, 1884 at Emington, Ill. On Aug. 13, 1908, he was married to Rose Shebeck at Des Moines. Mr. Wright moved to Marion from Des Moines in 1932, and in 1946 he moved to rural Springville. He was a retired machinist, retiring in 1948 from the Fruehauf Trailer Co.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are three sons, Wesley of Marion, Robert and Raymond of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Edna) Wood of Rural Springville and Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Hiebert of Rural Central City; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a brother, Ray of Norcross, Minn. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Roy and Robert and two sisters, Elizabeth and Susan.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Clyde Scott, pastor of the Springville Methodist church. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
