M. Ellen Keefe, 87, formerly of 5355 Holly Ave. NW, a resident of Cedar Rapids most of her life, died Wednesday at a local nursing home following a long illness.
Born Aug. 28, 1891, at Shelbyville, Ill., she was married to Arthur L. Keefe in 1923 at Mason City. He died in 1946. She had been employed as a waitress at the Cedar Rapids Country Club.
Surviving are one son, D.A> Jones of Cedar Rapids; one daughter Juanita Cisler of Chicago, Ill; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn M. Owens of Sioux City; and three grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Gordon B. Packard of St. James United Methodist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 tonight and at the chapel after 9 a.m. Friday. Friends may, if they wish, donate to the Heart Fund. The casket will be closed at 9:45 a.m. Friday.
