Bertha A. Hintz, 63, of 1218 B Ave., NW, a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1963 and formerly of Marion, passed away at 8:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. She was born the daughter of Fred and Anna Marie Deutcher Wentz on May 16, 1910 at Tripp, S.D. On Nov. 20, 1932 at Sioux City, she was married to William G. Hintz who passed away Nov. 22, 1961 at Marion. Mrs. Hintz had been employed as a surgical aide at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 26 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist church and the Milwaukee Womens club of Marion.
Surviving are a son, William C. Hintz, of Cedar Rapids and three grandchildren, William H., Georgia Gay and Amanda Kay Hintz, three sister, Mrs. Lorentine Christensen of Garner, Mrs. Ernestine Stewart of Kalispell, Mont., and Mrs. Anna Stemhagen of Eugene, Ore. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. J. Morris Steffenson. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery in Marion. Friends may if they wish, contribute to the cancer fund as a memorial.
