Death of L. Stowe.
Leonard Stowe, one of our oldest and most highly esteemed citizens, died Saturday after a short illness with pneumonia. Mr. Stowe, who was 85 years old, was born in Littleton, N.H., and came to Marion almost fifty years ago. He was a banker by trade and also owned and managed a hotel here at one time. For some time he has been retired from a business life, but has always been active and interested in all that was going on. The funeral was held at the home on North Tenth street this afternoon, conducted by Rev. S.R. Beatty of the Methodist church.
