The death of Rev. Dr. A.S. Marshall, at 2 a.m. Monday has caused a sorrow that is universal in our city. For nearly 40 years he has been the pastor of the Presbyterian church in Marion, and leaves a record as citizen and pastor pure and faultless. The funeral services will be held at the church today, at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. Dr. Phelps of Council Bluffs, assisted by the pastors of the Marion churches. It can be said of him that he will be missed by our people more than any other citizen who has passed away during the years he has been one of our citizens. Mrs. Marshall died several years ago. One son, C.H. and three daughters, the Misses Lizzie and Bertha and Mrs. A.E. Phelps, survive him. Obituary in our next.
