--James Eugene, the infant son of Charles and Rebecca Dumont, was laid to rest Sept. 21. The death of the beautiful child was a shock to the loving parents and a great surprise to all. The little fellow had but the briefest illness, though the few hours that he was really ill were preceded by a long serge of the whooping cough. So bright, so fair, so winning in his ways, so innocent in all he knew and did, no wonder that years ago the Saviour surrounded by such took the nearest one in his arms and said, "Oh such is the kingdom of heaven." The little body found a resting place in the cemetery after a brief service in the home by Rev. J.G. Van Ness, but the spirit had found a better home than that of earth.
