The Marion Register Wednesday November 27, 1895
Genevieve--infant daughter of John and Ruth Vanderbilt was born Friday, Nov. 22d, 1895, add[sic] lived but two brief days and was buried from the home, Monday at 11 a.m. The services were conducted by Rev. J.G. Van Ness of the M.E. church. Mr. and Mrs. Vanderbilt have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. To the neighbors for their constant kindness the family extend their sincere thanks.
