1919 - 2012 Obituary Condolences

Dorothy Marie Dreckman, 93 passed away peacefully August 6, at her home in Cedar Rapids, IA surrounded by her family and Special friends Amy Gaston Moore and Jill Gaston Jackson.

Born March 30, 1919 in Le Mars, IA to Louis and Mary Schafer. She was united in marriage to Marcellus Dreckman on August 18, 1941.

Survivors include daughter Mary (James) Vander Werff, Pella, IA, sons Paul Dreckman, Cedar Rapids, IA, Mark (Jo Ann) Dreckman, Urbandale, IA, three grandchildren, Kay Ann (Larry) Sigmund, David (Lisa) Vander Werff, Hope (Bobby) Quayle and three step-grandchildren Lea Ann (Jeff) Morrill, Kirk (Dixie) Thomas, Scott (Tami) Thomas, 15 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband on January 18, 1948, brothers Carl (Deloras) Schafer and Richard (Rita) Schafer.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled at St. Pius Catholic Church in Urbandale IA, at 11 a.m. Saturday August 18, 2012.
