Rites Saturday for Margaret McGowan
Services for Margaret V. McGowan, who died Thursday morning at a local nursing home, will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's church by the Rev. William H. Blessington. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
She was born Nov. 20, 1885, at What Cheer.
Mrs. McGowan was married to Arthur E. McGowan in Cedar Rapids in August of 1906. She had lived in Marion since that date, for many years at 499 Central ave.
Three sons survive: Leo of Marion, and twins D.W. and R.T. of Vinton. A brother, Leo Dempsey, lives in Oelwein; a sister, Mrs. Florence Hansen, in Council Bluffs.
The Rosary will be recited at the Baxter Memorial chapel Friday at 8 p.m. where friends may call.
