The Marion Register Thursday May 24, 1918
James T. Simkins, a well known and life long citizen of Marion, died in Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, at an early hour Tuesday morning. He was an accountant, and at one time was engaged in newspapering. The funeral services were held at the Pingrey parlors, conducted by Rev. Finney, Wednesday. He had many friends who are sorrowing friends today.
