JUDSON KRAMER DROPS DEAD
-----------------------
Well Known Florist Passes Away,
Was Delivering Flowers for Funeral
Judson Kramer, son of I.N. Kramer, and a member and active manager of the firm I.N. Kramer & Son, florists, dropped dead Saturday morning about 7 o'clock. He had started to deliver owners[sic] for the funeral of Mrs. Sarah Finney and it is presumed that the exertion of cranking the delivery auto had been too much for his heart, as he had complained a few days before of its affecting him. Passersby found him lying in front of the auto, which was standing on Fifth avenue, near Fourteenth street. A physician was called and he was prounounced, the cause of death as heart failure.
Mr. Kramer was born March 11, 1862, on the present site of Robins, and was the oldest of four children. He was educated in the Marion schools and then entered the nursery business here with his father. He was a quiet unassuming man, but very successful in business and a man of high integrity. His aged father and two sisters, Adelaide, at home, and Mrs. Ella Lund, of Washington, D.C., survive him.
The funeral was held at the home Tuesday morning with the Rev. W.A. Pratt and the Rev. Frank Ward, of Cedar Rapids, conducting the services. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
