Charles H. Stern, 97, of 322 1/2 Third avenue SW, who moved to Cedar Rapids from Vinton 45 years ago, died in a Cedar Rapids nursing home Friday. Born at Shellsburg March 14, 1860, he was employed at a Vinton canning factory. HE was the oldest member of the Golden Age club.
Surviving are his wife, Hattie, and a brother, Jess, of Nevada, Ia. A son, Grant, died June 7, 1953.
Services: Rohn funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday by Dr. Elton D. Wells. Burial: Linwood. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday.
