John E. Medulan, 85, formerly of 1805 I street SW, died Sunday at 8 p.m. after a long illness. Born in Czechoslovakia, Dec. 25, 1864, he came to Cedar Rapids when he was only five years old.
Surviving are three daughter, Mrs. Anton Voracek and Mrs. Adam Makowecki of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. William Divishek of Swisher; five sons, Milo, Stephen and Ernest, of Cedar Rapids, Stanley, of Manchester and Joseph, in Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. His wife and a son preceded him in death.
Services will be conducted in the Janeba funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Zdenek F. Pauk. Burial will be in Bohemian National cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
