Obituary.
William E. Collins son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Collins was born in Knox county, Truro township, Illinois, January 7th, 1871. When only three years of age he came with his parents to Louisa county,Iowa, where they remained until 1880, when they moved to Linn Grove, Iowa, where he has lived ever since. When five years of age he was afflicted with scarlet fever which resulted in the loss of the sight of one eye, but notwithstanding his affliction he was always industrious and persevering and sought to make the best of life. He was a man of good habits and was always willing to help others to the best of his ability. For many years he was a member of the Martin's Creek Methodist church. During the past two years he was a great sufferer, and passed away at the home of his parents, 1837 3rd Ave., Marion, Iowa, being 41 years, 3 months and three days of age.
The funeral services were held at the home on Friday morning April 12th, and were conducted by Rev. S. R. Beatty, pastor of the Methodist church, the interment being in Oak Shade cemetery.
