"Rodolphus Peet, one of the first students at Cornell college, and the founder of the Adelphian literary society died in Escondido, California July 23d. He left Iowa for the west about twenty years ago in search of a dryer climate on account of asthmatic troubles. He was a good citizen, a man of more than average ability, and the news of his death brings sorrow to his old time friends and especially to his college classmates."
