Obituary of Ned Emberson
---------------------------
Ned Emberson was born in Marion on the 10th of September, 1885. He has lived here for the thirty years of his life and has many friends, although not permitted by his health to get out as have others. During the last six years he has been unable to get far from the home and the greater part of the time has kept to his chair, which has been his bed by night and resting place by day. In this chair he went to sleep on the afternoon of October 17th, 1915, after having sojourned with us for a little more than thirty years. He was baptized upon the confession of his faith, by Elder Seaton, while the Christian church people meet in the old brick church. Ned found much comfort in and thru his faith, and his prayer, during his hours of pain, was "Father come and take me home," when he would be freed and be with those loved ones who have gone before.
He leaves to miss him very much, but not desiring to recall him to his suffering, his mother, one sister, Mrs. Ida Lamson of Milford, Nebraska, who has been with him during his days of trial; his brother, Harry of Portland, Oregon, besides other relatives and friends.
The funeral was held Oct. 19 at his late home, conducted by Rev. L.M. Starr.
