The Marion Register Wednesday October 17, 1906
Mrs. E.P. Crew, whose death was announced in Monday's issue of the REGISTER, was born in Columbiana county, Ohio, May 18, 1848. Her maiden name was Hansel[sic]. She married Mr. E.P. Crew in Marion, August 16th, 1866. Her home since then has been in Marion, Vinton and Cedar Rapids. She was a model woman. Her funeral services were held in the Methodist church, Dr. Van Ness preaching the discourse. Prayer by Dr. Troy. Music by Mrs. V.G. Shumack, Miss Louise Gibson, J.E. Bromwell and J.J. Booth with Miss Anna Engstrom, organist. The pall bearers were Messrs E.J. Esgate, F.J. Cleveland, C.F. Reichert, George Austin, Frank Snyder and Edward Jones. There was a large attendance of sympathising[sic] friends.
