DEATH OF THE MOTHER OF J.P. MESSER AT ST. PAUL LAST NIGHT.
J.P. Messer received a telegram this morning conveying the sad intelligence that his mother, Mrs. Nancy Messer, died at 9:30 o'clock last night at her home in St. Paul. Her dissolution was caused by old age and paralysis. Mrs. Messer is survived by her aged husband, Silas Messer, and three sons, J.P. of Cedar Rapids, A. Messer of St. Paul, and Amos of Concord, New Hampshire. She was 73 years of age, a native of the state of New Hampshire and a member of the Baptist church, having been a consistent christian during her whole life. Mrs. Messer had frequently visited her son in Cedar Rapids and had a number of acquaintances here, who will be pained to learn of her death. The remains will arrive in the city tomorrow morning and the funeral will be conducted at 4 o'clock in the afternoon from the residence of J.P. Messer, No. 151 First avenue. The interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
