Two children came to them--Minnie M. and Clifford L., the latter dying in 1900. Mrs. Kerns died in 1930. Since that time he has had the loving care of his daughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Scott. Other survivors are one granddaughter, Helen Scott, of Pasadena, Calif., one grandson, Harold Scott and one great grandson, Wayne Scott of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Kerns was a member of the Presbyterian church and of Osceola lodge No. 35, I.O.O.F.
