Services for Jay Alexander Held Here on Saturday
A short funeral service for the late Jay G. Alexander, who died August 16 at his home in Pocatello, Idaho, following an operation was conducted at Oak Shade cemetery Saturday by Dr. W.E. Fisher of the Presbyterian church. The deceased was born in Marion, the son of Captain and Mrs. J.S. Alexander, was educated in the Marion schools, and started his career in the First National bank under the tutelage of his father. He went to Tekoe, Wash., at the beginning of the century, where he engaged in the lumber business with the late Frank Hilliard, former manager of the Green Bay Lumber company in Marion. Later he moved to Pocatello, where they continued in the lumber game. He is survived by one brother, Dr. J.S. Alexander of Omaha, and two sisters, Mrs. J.P. Mentzer and Mrs. J.G. Blesch of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Blesch and Mr. and Mrs Mentzer were here for the funeral service.
