Rites Wednesday for Frank Newcomb, 77
Frank Newcomb, 77, died Sunday at his home, 758 Ninth st., Marion, following a long illness. He was a retired Milwaukee railroad brakeman.
Born at Fulton, Ohio, Feb. 13, 1882, he was married to Lula Wilson at Marshalltown June 15, 1909. Mr. and Mrs. Newcomb moved to Marion in 1914 from Perry. For several years after his retirement 12 years ago, he worked with a Marion building contractor.
He was a member of the Methodist church at Marion, a member of F.T. Fox lodge 319, B. or R.T.; and Unit 29, Retired and Veteran Railway Employes.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Noel James of Watkins; 5 sons, including Fred, of Olin, and Gerald, of Palo, and a sister.
Services: Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Murdoch chapel, Marion. Burial in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
