Warren P. Mundy, 52, a lifelong Linn County resident, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Guy and Olive Thompson Mundy on Sept. 17, 1911 at Alburnett, Ia. On July 1, 1936 at Rock Island, Ill., he was married to Mary Cole. Mr. Mundy resided in the Marion and Bertram communities for many years. He was employed by the Lee Crawford Rock Quarry. Mr. Mundy was a member of the Marion Free Methodist church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his mother, Mrs. Olive Mundy of Marion; four daughters, Mrs. Rudy (Margaret) Jasa of Marion, Mrs. George (LaVida) Roman of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Darrell (Marilyn) Yirkousky of Marion and Mrs. William (Rose) Henson of Vine Grove, Kentucky; three sons, George, Russell and Warren C. Mundy of Marion; 13 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ulys (Leota) Cole of Toddville; Mrs. LaWayne (Marilyn) Howe of Central City and a brother, Marvin Mundy of Solon. A brother, George Mundy, preceded him in death.
Services were 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Harold T. Rasche. Interment was in Oak Shad Cemetery.
