Services for Mrs. I. Burgess Held Monday

Death came early Saturday morning to Mrs. Isaac Burgess, of West Eighth avenue, after an illness of several weeks. For more than a quarter century she has made Marion her home, and won for herself a worthy place as a good wife, mother and neighbor.
She was born as Ida Anne Thompson at Morning Star, Iowa, the last day of 1885, and on Christmas day, 1909,w as married to Isaac Burgess in this city, who survives together with their three children, Mrs. Harlan Larson, Howard and Harold Burgess, all of Marion. She also has one brother and two sisters, Warren Thompson of Marion, Mrs. Ada Stinson of Sioux City, and Mrs. Olive Mundy, of Marion. There are seven grandchildren.
Mrs. Burgess was a faithful member of the Free Methodist church, and her funeral was conducted Monday morning at 9:30, with its pastor, Rev. C.O. Monroe, in charge. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
Out-of-town people here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Alexander of Buffalo; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Burgess, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Mundy, Mr. and Mrs. Kramer, all of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ada Stinson and Mrs. Carmelita Jeffrey and her family of Sioux City and Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Burgess of Palo.
