Ralph Rose
Ralph H. Rose, 68, of 2940 Fifth Ave., a resident of Marion and Cedar Rapids for the past six years, died Friday, Jan. 21 in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He was born the son of Everett and Sarah Van Norman Rose on Jan. 6, 1909 at Marion. Mr. Rose, a carpenter, served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Hanford Post No. 5, American Legion and Post No. 50, Cedar Rapids Amvets.
Surviving are a sister, Bessie Scott of Marion; a brother, George W. Rose of Cedar Rapids; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Hanson; and a brother, J. Russell Rose.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Philip Ewoldsen of the Noelridge Park Christian Church. Interment Oak Shade cemetery in Marion.
