Mrs. Sadie Srack Died Suddenly at Home Tuesday Eve
Mrs. Sadie A. Srack was found dead in her kitchen at 1255 Sixth avenue, Tuesday night by her husband on his return home from work. Heart trouble was given as the cause. The had been suffering from the trouble for several months.
She was born at Buck Creek, Iowa, March 28, 1871, the daughter of Joseph M. and Mary Drinkwine Guthrie, and was married June 24, 1908 to Fred M. Srack at Hopkinton, moving to Marion to make their home in that year. She is survived by her husband, and one sister, Mrs. Tillie Guthrie Lisk of Marion. A son, J.R. Guthrie Srack, died September 30, 1921, at the age of 12. Mrs. Srack devoted a great deal of her time to Christian work. She was a Bible teacher at the Marion Baptist church and at Sunshine Mission in Cedar Rapids, and was connected with the Ladies Aid society of the Marion Baptist and Methodist churches and of the Church of God in Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Marion Baptist church, with Rev. L.W. Inman, the pastor in charge, assisted by Rev. Frank Ward of Cedar Rapids. Mrs. R.N. Coolidge of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Raymond Eckhart of Marion will sing. Burial will be made in Oak Shade.
