Susan L. Guzzle, 83, of 204 10th Street and a lifelong Linn County resident, passed away at 5:05 p.m. Thursday, April 29, in a Cedar Rapids hospital. She was born the daughter of Noble and Elizabeth Hawk Gooley on Oct. 24, 1881 in Linn County. On Aug. 15, 1904 at Anamosa, Ia. she was married to Harley G. Guzzle, who passed away Oct. 10, 1962 at Marion. Mrs. Guzzle was a member of the First Christian Church of Marion.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Myrtle O'Brien of Marion; four nieces, Mrs. Cecil (Harmie) Knouf, Mrs. Arling (Arlene) Hughes, Mrs. Dorothy Robison, and Mrs. Bernice Bristol and two nephews, Howard and Roy Guzzle. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Roy Gooley and two sisters, Flora Klumph and Christina Guzzle.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 3 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Herbert G. Kohl. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
