Sunday For Mrs. Fleisher
Mrs. William J. Fleisher, 65, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, at her home, 409 Twenty-second st., Marion, following a long illness.
She was born Grace Evelyn Johnson, daughter of William and Alma Hall Johnson at Dubuque on February 11, 1887. She graduated from Marion high school in the class of 1906. She was married September 30, 1910 at Marion to Mr. Fleisher and they have made their home here since that time.
Mrs. Fleisher was a member of the Marion Methodist church; a past Noble Grand of Grove City Rebekah Lodge, No. 35; a past Chief Matriarch of Ladies Encampment No. 91; a past Grand Matriarch of the Ladies Grand Encampment Auxiliary of Iowa; a past president of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant, and Financial Secretary of Grove City Rebekah Lodge.
She is survived in addition to her husband by three sons: Kyle C. Fleisher, Cedar Rapids; Seigle H. Fleisher, Boston, Mass., and Mahlon Fleisher of Baytown, Texas. She also leaves six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Serena Hill of Los Angeles, and a brother, Emory D. Johnson of Los Angeles.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Yocom-Murdoch Funeral Home by the Rev. James P. Gable and Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery. Bearers were Irwin Castle, Everett Lurth, Norman Adee, L.C. O'Kelly, Harrison Booze and Chas. Wood. Soloist was Pluma Terrill.
