Services Monday for John A. Monroe, 67
John A. Monroe, 67, of 665 Hillview drive, died Thursday afternoon in a Cedar Rapids hospital following a brief illness.
Born Oct. 7, 1900, in Chickasaw county, he was married to Marie Corper March 5, 1956, at Austin Minn. They moved to the Cedar Rapids area in 1956 from Charles City. Mr. Monroe was a salesman for the Copper Construction Co. of Marion. He was a member of the Charles City Christian church.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, John F. of Marion and Don R. of Phoenix, two step-daughters, Mrs. Alvin Wood of Ionia and Mrs. Paul Miller of Charles City; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ben Beck of Marion.
Services: Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Peter M. Morgan. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel Saturday after 6 p.m.
