Rites Monday for Mrs. John Smith
Mrs. John C. Smith, 68, died Thursday at her home, 1004 Twelfth ave., after a long illness.
Born Agnes C. La Turno July 7, 1890, at Ida Grove, Ia., she was married Jan. 9, 1911, at Manilla, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. Smith moved to Marion a year later.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist church, Marion chapter No. 183, O.E.S., the White Shrine, Grove City Rebekah lodge No. 35, Mary circle of the Methodist WSCS, and the Mary Lowe Dickinson circle of King's Daughters.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are 2 sons, Leroy S. Smith of Arcadia, Calif., and John D. Smith of Cedar Rapids; 2 daughters, Mrs. Leo Voss of Marion, and Mrs. Donald Brooks of Temple City, Calif.; a brother, Joseph La Turno of Sioux City and 3 sisters, Margaret Gilbert and Emma Graves of Portland, Ore., and Elizabeth Van Osdol of Manilla.
Services at the Murdoch chapel, Marion, Monday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 10 a.m. Saturday.
