Pearl B. Kershner Passed Away Here Thursday
Pearl B. Kershner, 54, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Thursday at her home 412 Seventh St., following a long illness.
She was born at Center Point on April 16, 1896[sic], the daughter of Sam and Emma Blankenship Jackson. She was married to Andrew F. Kershner on October 1, 1936 at Cedar Rapids. She had lived in this community for 13 years. They moved to Marion from a farm on the Center Point road.
She was a member of the Marion Christian church. In addition to her husband she is survived by a sister, Mrs. J.C. Moran of Cedar Rapids and by a grandson, Jackie Moran of Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Yocom-Murdoch Chapel by the Rev. Richard Goins. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Allen, Charles Craig, LaVerne Moran, Floyd Emmons, Ernest Hamm and Charles Tritle.
