Suffers Stroke of Paralysis Last January from Which She Never Recovered
Mrs. Jessie May Hewett Nicoll, wife of Dr. D.T. Nicoll, died at the family home on Eighth avenue last Thursday, as a result of a stroke of paralysis which she suffered last January. Funeral services were held from the hom Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Earle A. Baker and Rev. S.S. Smith.
Jessie May Hewett was the daughter of Gordon P. and Sarah Hewett of Kingston, Wis., where she received her education, became principal of the public school, and married D.T. Nicoll.
The family later lived at Killbourn, Wis., Clinton and Clarence Iowa, coming to Marion in May, 1923.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. D.T. Nicholl and son, Charles, of this city and a brother, C.D. Hewett of Burlington.
Because of failing health, Mrs. Nicoll did not form a large acquaintance in Marion, but those who came to know her, loved her for her high ideals and beautiful character.

Beckwith, Wyoming, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. P.T. Mitchell; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Park, Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Cashman, J.A. Claney, Miss Ella Claney and H.J. Becker, all of Clarence, Ia.; Miss Bernice Fink, Clinton; Mrs. R.G. Chisholm, Mrs. W.A. Gauger and Charles Emerson, all of Cedar Rapids.
