Rites Thursday For Mrs. Crew
Bertha A. Crew, 86, a lifelong Marion resident, died Monday evening at her home, 1160 Ninth avenue.
She was born in Marion and was graduated from high school in the class of 1894. She attended Coe college and taught in the Paralta and Marion schools. She was married to Dr. A.E. Crew on June 29, 1903, at Marion.
Mrs. Crew was a member of the First Methodist church, chapter CS, PEO, Reading circle and a charter member of the Ameigo club.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Herbert Gee of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a son, Dr. Philip Crew of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Services: Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Ralph E. Baker. Burial: Oak Shade. Friends may call at the chapel.
