Amber B. Travis Died May 23
Amber B. Travis, 71, a lifelong Marion resident, died Thursday at her home, 989 Ninth st. in Marion. She was born the daughter of George and Sophia Windsor[sic] Buzza on December 5, 1891 at Marion.
For 24 years she was the Marion correspondent for the Cedar Rapids Gazette. She retired in 1961. Mrs. Travis was a member of the Marion Christian church, Chapter 183 O.E.S., Mary Lowe Dickenson Kings Daughters and Sons, the Cary Club, Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35, and the Womens Relief Corps.
Surviving are a son, Frank Travis of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; a grandson, Steven Travis of Rio de Janeiro; a brother Frank Buzza of Owens Sound, Ontario, Canada and a sister, Mrs. N.C. (Mildred) Rice of Lynwood, Wash. She was preceded in death by a brother G. Earl Buzza, and a sister Mary Buzza.
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, May 27, at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by Rev. Herbert Kohl. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery.
