Oldtime Resident Dies Here Sunday
George W. Miller, 80, longtime resident of Marion, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. George E. Starks at 1060 Second avenue, last Sunday at 5 a.m.
Born on March 26, 1867, in Armstrong county, Penn., the son of John and Rebecca Nolder Miller, he married Lillie Etta Gibson at Vinton on March 4, 1915. He came to Marion in 1897 from Pennsylvania and has lived here most of his life since that time. He was a retired Milwaukee railroad employe.
Services were held in the Yocom chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. James P. Gable officiating. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery.
He is survived by two brothers; Dan and Louis of Apollo, Penn.; four sisters, Mrs. Mae Fetterman, Leechburg, Penn., Mrs. Edith Houser, Apollo, Penn., Mrs. Alice Kassler and Mrs. Cora Starks, both of Marion. Five sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were J.O. Biesecker, Jack Lisk, Kenneth Silker, J.R. Starry, Fred Schultz and George Markert.
