Julia R. Crew, 85, of Maryville, Tn., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 27, 1996, in Asbury Health Center, Maryville, Tn., following a short illness. Services were April 1 at St. Paul's Chapel Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Jim Shirbroun officiating. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion with arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home.
Surviving are two sisters, Frances Bair of Az. and Mary Bausch of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are two nephew and two nieces {omitted for privacy}.
She was born the daughter of William and Ida Garrett Crew on January 18, 1911, in Marion. Julia graduated from Cornell College and attended Yale University for a year. She taught art in the Cedar Rapids schools for over 40 years and was a member of the Art Association and St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous and the Art Association.
