Elderly Linn County Farmer Dies At Walker
WALKER--Albert Buehler, 90, a farmer in Linn and Buchanan counties since 1882, died Thursday, Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at his home in Walker.
He was born April 19, 1861, at Affenburg, Baden, Germany, the son of Alexander and Justine Saar Buehler. After coming to Iowa to live in 1882 he was married to Angela E. Kleitsch at Spencer Grove in 1889.
Mr. and Mrs. Buehler moved to Walker in 1944, where she passed away March 26, 1950. He had lived with his daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Thiltgen until the time of his death.
He was a member of Sacred Heart church at Walker.
Surviving are seven children: Mrs. Catherine Hoffman, Mrs. Elizabeth Thiltgen, Charles Buehler, Mrs. Mary Bearbower, Nick Buehler, John Buehler, and Mrs. Lee Hamilton; 19 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Services were held at the Sacred Heart church Monday with the Rev. J.J. Olinger officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery, Spencer Grove. Bearers were Carl Bohls, Ruthard Smith, Frank Takes, Jack Kayser, Frank Leaven and Dan Mahoney.
