Daniel Cory Dies.
Daniel S. Cory, 70, died Monday at 1:30 a.m. at his home in Mt. Vernon. Mr. Cory, a lifelong resident of the Prairie Chapel community, moved to Mt. Vernon a year ago.
Born Sept. 22, 1881, on a farm near Marion, Mr. Cory was married to Elva Smith at Springville in 1905. He was a member of the Prairie Chapel Methodist church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Marshall, of Jesup and Norman, of Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren; a brother, John Cory of Marion, and three sisters, Mrs. Thadeus Dean of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Dave Hindman and Mrs. Lester Scott of Marion.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Yocom-Murdoch chapel, Marion, by the Rev. Clyde Scott of Walker. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
