Services Monday for Elva M. Cory, 89
Elva M. Cory, 89, a resident of Springville and Marion and a lifelong resident of Linn county, died Thursday, in a Cedar Rapids nursing home.
She was born at Springville and on Nov. 22, 1905, she was married to Daniel Snyder Cory, who died April 14, 1952, at Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Cory was an 1897 graduate of the Springville high school and had taught school in the Linn county schools. She was a former member of the Prairie chapel church.
Surviving are two sons, Marshall S. Cory of Route one, Jesup, and Norman W. Cory of Cedar Rapids; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Sterner of Cedar Rapids.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Murdoch chapel in Marion conducted by the Rev. Earl W. Osnes. Burial: Oak Shade cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the chapel.
